9 However, as it is written:
27 The lamp of the LORD searches the spirit of a man;
it searches out his inmost being. Proverbs 20:27 (Bible - Old Testament)
Comments: Spirit Being is a celebration of the new birth. And is also a reminder that man is a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body. God made man in His own image. God is a Spirit. Man is also a spirit.
The spirit of man was dead unto the things of God, because of Adam’s sin. By being born again, as according to the gospel of Jesus Christ; the spirit of man is made alive unto the things of God.
The halo represents the sainthood of the believer and also appears to be a utensil, Sephaid, used by many cultures to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Yisehak has a common theme seen in many of his paintings of strong horizontal and vertical lines. This is his explanation for these. The structure that holds everything together is the vertical and horizontal lines (the cross). The composition depends on it and the composed elements are set in and around it harmoniously. The vertical and horizontal lines so vividly seen in this painting represent two laws. Jesus, when asked which was the greatest of all the commandments? Answered by saying, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (represented by the vertical). “The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' (horizontal), On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40 (Bible - New Testament)
Spirit Being
“No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him” – 10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
16 “For who has known the mind of the Lord
that he may instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:9-16 (Bible - New Testament)
